Access to Education consists of four specialist services: Communication & Autism Team (CAT), Pupil and School Support (PSS), Sensory Support (SS) and Physical Difficulties Support Service (PDSS), who work to ensure children and young people with additional educational needs are supported in their school or setting.

The Communication and Autism Team (CAT) are a specialist educational support service, supporting autistic children and young people in Birmingham. Through advice and support these children and young people can access learning, successful inclusion and the opportunity to maximise their educational, social and employment potential.
Pupil and School Support work with schools and other educational settings to help pupils with cognition and learning difficulties and other vulnerable groups progress and achieve to the best of their abilities. Our staff are highly experienced qualified teachers with a range of expertise in SEN.
We are committed to removing barriers to learning for pupils and students with hearing or vision impairment, or a physical difficulty from birth to 25. Sensory and Physical Support are teams of specialist staff working with children and young people with hearing or vision impairment or a physical difficulty at all stages of their educational development.
