Developing the role of the EAL Coordinator

£125.00

Cost: £125

The Bell Foundation, in association with Pupil & School Support.

This online session is aimed at supporting both new and more experienced EAL coordinators. EAL co-ordinators play an integral role in developing whole-school systems that support EAL learners. It is therefore essential that EAL co-ordinators have a clear understanding of a range of strategies to support teachers and teaching assistants in meeting the needs of all EAL learners.

Course Structure:

The course will support with induction, identification of EAL and the pupil’s primary needs, using assessments to support the development of language targets and tracking progress. In addition, we will look at developing an EAL policy, introduce inclusive planning frameworks that may be used by teachers and raise awareness of some strategies that can be used for EAL learners.
